Maybe the best remix ever
A week ago tonight, Steve and I got to see Steely Dan in concert.
It’s true that the sound wasn’t that great for someone who didn’t know all the lyrics by heart (and since then, I’ve also been plagued with problems of every conceivable music-playing appliance…computer iTunes is shot, the iPod is crapped out, the kitchen iPod player is being flakey, and the old-fashioned stereo (loaded with 4 Steely Dan discs) is on the fritz).
But, in the midst of all of that and a summer of sewing the rakusu, I find this very excellent remix of (allegedly) deaf Chinese dancers doing the dance of Avaloktiesvara Boddhisattva, the thousand hands thousand eyes Guan Yin Bodhdisattva, with the Steely Dan song “Bodhisattva”.
What a weird and wonderful world.
